Continue with these movies now, it's only part of them which I consider worth watching for.
FREQUENCY A science-fiction film that contains of time travelling, which the male lead (John) accidentally discovers his dead father's ham radio. Because of unusual aurora borealis activity, he discovers that he is manage to make contact with his father exactly 30 years in the past, at the day before his death in a warehouse fire. John tried to warn his father about the fire which took his life, but of course his father didn't believe him. The next day, John's warning actually happened, and his words saved his father from the death. However, by saving his father, John has created a new timeline while retaining his memory of the old. Since then, John and his father have to work together to fix the following issues that arise. |
THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT
It's a science fiction psychological thriller film. The male lead (Evan) finds himself has the ability to travel back in time to inhabit his former self and change the present. Having been the victim of several childhood traumas aggravated by stress-induced memory losses, he attempts to set things right for himself and his friends, but there are unintended consequences for all. Then, finally when everything gone out of his control, he had no choice but to travel back to the time when he was about to be born. He tried to commit suicide so that the following tragedies would not happen.
DAYBREAKERS
The movie takes place in 2019, where a plague has turned most of the planet's human population into vampires. A vampiric corporation sets out to capture and farm the remaining humans while researching a blood substitute. Lead vampire hematologist (Edward) work is interrupted by human survivors led by former vampire (Elvis) who has a cure that can save the human species.
Well, I feel like the movie is quite similar to "I'm Legend", which there's finally a cure for the disease, but both of the movies never tell us whether the cure manage to fix the situation or not.
THE BOURNE: IDENTITY
An Italian fishing boat crew discovers an unconscious man (Jason Bourne) adrift in the Mediterranean with two gunshot wounds in his back. Jason then woke up and found himself couldn't remember anything, including his identity. With the only clue, which is an account number to a safety deposit box, he attempts to discover his true identity. Throughout the journey, he bumped into Marie and he offers her money to take him to Paris. Meanwhile, assassins were sent to eliminate Jason as he was the covert operative responsible for a failed assassination attempt on African dictator. Jason then sends Marie away for her safety, but when he is free from the elimination, he travels to reunite with Marie.
THE BOURNE: SUPREMACY
It's 2 years later, apparently Jason still got no clue of his true identity. Due to some reasons, an assassin is sent to kill Jason, but killed Marie by mistake, the jeep they are driving then run off the bridge into a river. The assassins left believing Jason is dead as well. So, Jason came back to seek revenge for Marie's death. Jason went back to the site of his first mission and recalled some missing memory. He then also discovered the truth and the reason of assassinating him, which also caused the death of Marie.
THE BOURNE: ULTIMATUM
The former CIA assassin and psychogenic amnesiac, Jason Bourne continues with his saga attempting to fix his missing memory and discover his true identity. In this movie, he actually recalls all his memory and also helped Landy, the CIA Deputy Director in investigating the "Treadstone's behaviour modication program" which Jason was also responsible for.
Uhmm. This is the 3rd movie in the Bourne series, and the 4th movie is scheduled to release in this coming August. Although Jason Bourne is no longer in the movie, but I'm still gonna watch it, hopefully it wouldn't let me down cause I'm really into this Bourne series.
UNDERWORLD: AWAKENING
Previously, the female lead, also a vampire (Selene) was captured by the Government. 12 years later, Selene was free by "Subject 2", she then escapes from the medical corporation. She has a strong vision and she believes that it's linked to her lover, a vampire-lycan hybrid, Michael. But she then discovered that it's linked to a young girl, Eve (Subject 2), who revealed to be a hybrid, and also daughter to Selene and Michael. The movie ended with Selene went back to the medical corporation to save Eve, she accidentally discovered Michael there, she attempted to free him, but when she went back for him after saving Eve, he has already left. Meanwhile, Eve discovered that she's able to physically viewing Michael's sight.
It's already my 3rd vampire movie in April, I suppose it's the TVD effect? Btw, TVD3 is gonna end in this coming Thursday, really can't wait for it to cast!
宫锁心玉
Remember 步步惊心 which I mentioned in the previous post? 宫锁心玉 is quite similar to it, which the female lead also travels back to the Dynasty Qing, but this time it's not about exchanging soul, she actually fall from the sky wearing the modern dress, heels and also a mp3 with her. The casts, their characteristics and story line are different as well, but it's still about a girl travelling back to the old dynasty and the way she survives there. Honestly I'm not really into this drama, I don't know why it doesn't seem real to me, the only reason that keep me to continue watching is that the 8th prince is together with the female lead. As I said before, I'm a supporter of the 8th prince, so it's really good to see both of them being together, though they aren't the same casts.
The female lead went back to the real life, as she doesn't want the 4th and 8th princes having fight because of her. Some time later, the 8th prince was sent here too. So, they get to reunite in the 21st century.
Happy ending! =D
Both of them really look very sweet being together right?
The perfect match?
Finally I'm done blogging about my semester break! Lifeless right? No outings, but only movies and dramas! *sigh*
